The Process
While completing my project, I did a series of interviews and literature reviews. I interviewed people in the village about what they want to see improve in their community. I also interviewed two people who have conducted similar projects to mine. In addition, I interviewed faculty members at various schools with the hopes of collaborating with them in order to receive more donations. While collaborating, I will be able to sell goods from Ngonani to various people in different communities.

My literature reviews helped me understand the best way to raise money for developing countries. I read a series of books about philanthropy and fair trade. In doing so, I was able to understand my project better,
My research tactics were effective and allowed me to ask new questions about my project. It also gave me more guidance on how to move forward with my project as it pertains to fundraising and maintaining a relationship with the people within the village. After analyzing my research I was able to identify some flaws in my project. However, after speaking with my interviewees, I was able to create a plan on the best way to move forward.

Struggles
I encountered some struggles during the research process. While completing literature reviews, I had a difficult time finding books that discussed fundraising and fair trade with different perspectives. Most of the books that I read discussed many of the same themes, which is not helpful because it does not expose me to different ideas. Also, since I only read four books about fundraising and fair trade my knowledge regarding the topic is not broad.

While conducting interviews I struggled with finding a diverse group of people to ask questions. However, after reaching out to my peers I was able to conduct an interview with a professor at Indiana University. During my interview I asked questions about maintaining relationships and creating a profitable fair trade system. I also interviewed a student who is conducting a project that is similar to mine. My interview was helpful, however, I failed to receive relevant advice because her project is grant driven.
